It is time for class and the school bellrings, butsophomore Chen Zibang is still rushing to the express station on hisbicycle. May 24, rainy Friday, hechooses to persist on his own business instead of attending lessons, not anordinary college life.

Chen keeps more than 50 frogs in his dorm. The 23-year-old studentis older than his classmates and determined to earn money on his own. He said he willsell all the frogs online before the term ends.

Chen stores all the frogs separately in small boxes and puts them into a huge cabinet he installed in his room. The frogs cost differently depending on their sizes and breeds, so it is necessary to manage them one by one. Chen also keeps fish andmealworm, for he insists on providing fresh food for the frogs.

“I am looking for buyers via Taobao and otheronline shopping platform,” said Chen.

Whenever the trade is confirmed, Chen delivers thefrogs immediately, which makes it his weekly routine to go to theexpress station.

It costs Chen 50 to 100yuanto buy a frog, and the profit of each deal is morethan 50 yuan.Since he started this business a month ago, he has earned morethan 300 yuan.

“Keeping frogs is funny, though it brings somedifficulties,” said Chen. Every time he feeds his amphibians, he needs to cutthe fish into pieces, making the room stinky.

He is glad that his roommate does not mind.
